Students embrace culture during Pre-independence celebration

Over 800  students from the Tabubil Primary School participated in pre-independence celebration embracing their culture in various dance performances.

Students and staff members with the theme, “Valuing our unique cultures”  came in traditional attires and participated in contemporary dances at the school area on Friday, September 6th, 2024.

Cultures of 22 provinces have been performed, signifying the importance of unique cultures in PNG.

School Head Teacher Mrs Iwala Gom thanked students and parents who have attended this 49th Pre-independence celebration saying culture is important in our country. Therefore, participating in such an event educates the students  and values of culture.

She says students coming together for this event have also broadened their minds. The cultures of past and present students can continue to uphold these values in the coming years.

Students brave the cold rainfall and completed their celebrations on a high note.
